Stat. Update Astronomy

Its Chinese new year tomorrow and so everyone onboard have been granted holiday. I will still be working for 8 hours, since Im a watchkeeper.
Tonight during the watch, something in the sky caught my eye. It was a clear night, and it looked like a patch in the sky. On seeing through the binoculars, I noticed that this was a group of stars placed so close to each other that for a naked eye observation, it looked like a patch in the sky.
Sometimes, I wonder if I should pursue Astronomy as a career. These thoughts have been growing in me lately. Atleast its a science and I will have the oppurtunity to learn more about the way the universe works. Lets see what the future holds for me.

Stat. Update

One of my relatives died of a viral fever yesterday. She died within 20 days of the onset of the symptoms. She was cremated in a fully enclosed bag to avoid the virus from spreading. Its hard to imagine that such a thing exists even in present modern conditions. May her soul RIP.

Stat. Update

Im right now on my way to Cape Town. Im trying a new font called Shruti. The hectic schedule of fareast has completed, but the work has still been demanding.
The new crew relief plan is onboard, and I have been planned for sign off at Port Klang on the 27th. I will be relieved by a Chinese officer who is sailing in this position for the first time.

Stat. Update

Happy new year to all. Im currently in South China sea, on the way to a Chinese port called Zhoushan. As you already know, Im on a ship called Maersk Copenhagen.

I have made a few new year resolutions and have been able to keep them up till now. Lets see if it holds up till Pongal.
